Next Stop: San Diego

RWTG will present a reading of the 2007 Pulitzer prize-winning play Rabbit Hole, by David Lindsay-Abaire, as an Open Session at the AGPA Annual Meeting in San Diego, California next February 2010.

The Co-Chairs of the session are Bob Schulte and Molly Donovan. The panelists/cast members include Maryetta Andrews-Sachs, John Dluhy, Hallie Lovett, Rosemary Segalla and Rob Williams. Bob Schulte will direct the production. Molly Donovan will facilitate the post-performance audience discussion with the cast and director.

Rabbit Hole portrays the day-to-day heartache of complicated grief in a family mourning the accidental death of a child. Becca and Howie Corbett have everything a couple could want until a life-shattering accident turns their world upside down and leaves them drifting perilously apart. Their journey into an uncertain future is burdened by problems with intimacy, uneasy friends who don't call and the emptiness of a house no longer alive with the sounds of four-year-old Danny. Becca’s well-meaning mom and off-kilter sister attempt to lift the family’s spirits and still deal with their own problems with efforts that are at once painful, hilarious and poetic. The family’s recovery is further complicated and yet enhanced when the young driver Jason who killed their son makes contact seeking his own closure and possible redemption.

Rehearsals will begin in October 2009. A Sunday afternoon dress rehearsal in Washington, D.C. will be open and free to the public. Call Bob Schulte at 703-838-1633 for exact date, time and place.
